Work spaces get an update to attract millennial workforce
(Orlando, Fla.) April 23, 2019 - Demetree Real Estate Services, an Orlando-based property management company specializing in consulting and construction services, has begun renovations on a historic office building in downtown Orlando.
“Millennials are taking over the workforce and, much like their work habits, their workplace requirements are very different from the generations that came before them. As technology, collaboration and longer office hours have become the benchmarks of today’s workforce, the old standards for office building design are no longer enough to satisfy employee and business needs..” Lori Koogler, COO
56 E. Pine St., a multi-story office/retail building in downtown Orlando, was originally built in 1923. The first floor houses a bar and restaurant while the second and third floors are reserved for office space. The renovations being performed by Demetree Real Estate Services will focus on providing amenities that are in alignment with the needs of the growing millennial workforce.
Changes to the building’s second floor are mostly cosmetic and include the removal of baseboards, installation of new lighting and flooring, freshly painted walls and ceilings and several other aesthetic improvements.
A wonderful, outdoor workspace has been completed with a new courtyard accessible from multiple locations throughout the offices and there is also a plan to add passive amenity spaces that promote quiet reflection and stress reduction.
